It’s understandable to be afraid from thief for your own home or your own business. Although you can’t prevent it at 100%, here are a few tips that should help you keeping your things safe from burglary.

First of all, you need to lock up everything. It means that your important things, your home or your business, should always be locked up with a secure lock whenever you are not around, even if it’s just for a short period of time.

Then, you should definitely upgrade your locks and defenses. If you put a deadlock on a solid door, thieves will have a hard time breaking it. Deadbolt locks are usually the best. Same thing is true for your windows: if you put grilles and shutters, you are safe from having someone breaking through your windows.

If you are going on a vacation, ask your trustworthy neighbors to take your newspapers and to empty your mailbox.

Another valuable advice is to keep its keys in a safe place. Don’t put them somewhere around your house where a burglar can easily find them or copy them!
